President Thomas Jefferson is featured on U.S. coinage in four different designs. His likeness first appeared on the nickel in 1938, created by Felix Schlag, and continued until 2005. The 2004-2005 Westward Journey series included changes, with Joe Fitzgerald redesigning the obverse in 2005 and Jamie Franki updating it in 2006. Jefferson also appears on the 2007 Presidential Dollar.
